To paint Kyoto's autumn leaves, I booked a room at a hotel in Rakuhoku Hanase, which was recommended to me by a friend, and so I went there with my wife. We took a taxi, which we had reserved, from Kyoto Station, and on the way to the hotel, as I was making sketches I asked the taxi driver to make so stops. As the sun was setting, I asked the driver to park the taxi at a particular place, and rushed out of the taxi with my sketch book in hand. I saw the sun light shining over this particular mountain surface, while the evening was approaching, and the autumn leaves were sparkling in the light. The sun at the mountain village was dropping fast. I was only able to make a note of the atmosphere. I, still till this day, don't know the name of the place, or the name of sparkling autumn trees, but I have those sparkling autumn leaves burnt in my eyes even till this day.
