Every time I fly, I always get a window seat and have a small sketch book ready. I made this painting of continuous series of the Tian Shan Mountains out of the plane window, on my way to Beijing from Urumqi, western regions in China. If you look closely at the foot of the snow covered mountains, you will see a road that looks like a line, and I saw numerous numbers of lines spreading over that road. It is a completely dried desert area, so the snow melted water or occasional rain water does not sink into the ground, so the water flow over the dried surface of the mountains and creates complicated pattern. This is a geoglyph drawn, over and over again, by Mother Nature.
