I was born and raised in Koiwa, Edogawa ward in Tokyo. My birth home was close to the Edogawa River. Nowadays, the sides of the Edogawa river have been developed and turned into baseball grounds, however when I was a child, there were vegetable gardens all over and in some places it was full of reeds. It has been thirty something years ago, but I visited the Edogawa river for the first time after a long time. The development of the river side was already in progress, but I don’t know why but there was a broken bridge over a narrow stream that flows into the Edogawa River, that suddenly reminded me of old views of the Edogawa River I remember, so I quickly made sketches of it. Most probably this bridge and stream are no longer there now.
