1969 Gods and the Moon.jpg

Osupa means the Moon in Yoruba. Whenever I had time, I used to paint in my small four and a half tatami mat sized studio/bed room at my parents house. I was submitting 4 to 5 paintings to the Spring Inten Exhibitions, and I was finally being selected, so I was enjoying painting a lot at the time.

This painting was selected at the 24th Spring Inten Exhibition. But I would not have been surprised if any of the other paintings I submitted was selected, because I was so committed to painting and worked so hard during that period of my life.
