1982 Asuka River.jpg

Amakashi-oka is a low hill that is located in the midstream of the Asuka River and you can see Yamato Sanzan (three mountains of Yamato); and the Asuka River that flows through Asuka plain. This is a painting of the current Asuka viewed from Amakashi-oka, but while I was painting, I started to wonder what Asuka was like in the past, so the painting ended up with a somewhat touch of the ancient Asuka.
